Wakulla Correctional Institution
Covering 180,000 SF, the Wakulla County Correctional Institution was designed and constructed to hold a total of 1,200 inmates. The campus is divided into different units consisting of an administration building, a visitor control center, a food service center, a health unit, laundry area and three T-Cells.
A warehouse and maintenance facility was also built just beyond the secured perimeter. The entire site was prepared and pads put in place to meet future expansion needs. In addition to facility construction, Ajax was responsible for the infrastructure of the entire 120 acres (80 inside the compound).
The project included extensive site work, clearing, cut, fill, and installation of five miles of road. A premium was placed on the implementation of environmental controls.
