University of South Florida College of Nursing
This project consisted of a three-story addition and renovation of the existing College of Nursing in order to provide new teaching and testing environments, dedicated student and faculty spaces and spaces which integrate elements of the College of Nursing, the College of Medicine and the existing USF Clinics. The 94,000 square foot building included Medical and Nursing testing, teaching and laboratory space, student study rooms, staff offices, conference facilities and two new state-of-the-art Amphitheatre Lecture halls featuring video conference technology.
Alfonso Architects, our architectural partner on this project, featured a frosted and tinted laminated green glass curtainwall pattern that is braced by an exposed tube steel grid. It provides natural light to mitigate the need for powered lighting of the massive vertical common space.
This project earned an ABC Eagle Award of Excellence.
