University of North Florida East Ridge Honors Residence Hall
This new residence hall would include specific amenities for the Honors College. The residence component consists of 500 student housing beds arranged in traditional, suite, and apartment style resident assistant apartments, faculty apartments, area coordinator apartment, and student support spaces (including laundry facilities, common lounges, common kitchens, study areas and Honors College program spaces).
The new building will be up to four stories in height and shall have one point of entry control. Additional amenities that would be beneficial to the Honors College program might include but not be limited to; meeting rooms, group study areas, music practice rooms, audio and video edit rooms, video conference rooms and maker space.
The first phase of the project will include developing a building program to confirm space needs and provide complete descriptions of project requirements for the Honors College and Housing and Residence Life programs.
The building program will include identifying site requirements, space requirements, interior amenities, site amenities, quality of construction, materials and systems, overall gross area of the project, a project budget, organizational requirements, furniture & equipment, technology requirements, and infrastructure/environmental requirements. The building program will also include space needs assessment, impact on master plan, site analysis, program area, utilities impact analysis, codes and standards.
