The School of Arts & Sciences Classroom Addition
The project consisted of sitework including demolition, utilities, grading, new retention pond, parent / bus loop, sidewalks and landscaping. It has a new twelve classroom pre-engineered metal building which is approximately 12,000 square feet. The building shares the same roof but is split by a breezeway with eight classrooms on one side and four on the other.
One of the new buildings now houses all of the SAS middle school grades; the other its fourth and fifth-grade classes. The metal structures greet drivers on Thomasville Road with large block letters spelling out the school’s name. With the new buildings in place, SAS is able to admit more students to grow the school’s enrollment. Previously, only 90 students attended the middle school.
This project earned an ABC Eagle Award of Excellence.
