New Tallahassee Police Department Project Will Benefit Community in More Ways Than One
We are adding to our strong public safety resume with being recently selected as CM for the City of Tallahassee’s new 170,000 SF Police Department. This is an exciting multi-generational project which has an estimated construction cost of $76,000,000. Ajax Vice President, Jay Smith, says, “And while building a state-of-the-art new headquarters is an obvious benefit for our community, I’d like to focus on an additional opportunity we are excited to develop for this project. My firm, Ajax Building Corporation, has had the privilege of working around the Southeastern U.S. and witnessed the benefits of reaching out to the disadvantaged and disenfranchised by offering apprenticeships and/or assistance in workforce re-entry. Specifically, we are currently finishing the new $62-million city of St. Petersburg Police Department Headquarters and have had great success engaging both “disadvantaged” and “apprentice” workers. We plan to offer that same kind of assistance here in Tallahassee by implementing the Ajax Disadvantaged and Apprentice Workers Program for the Public Safety Campus project.”
