New Beachside Elementary campus opens in Daytona Beach for former Osceola, Ortona students
From the Daytona News JournalGo to https://www.news-journalonline.com/ – “With the start of the new year and a new semester, the Volusia County School District also celebrated the opening of a new school. The consolidation of Osceola Elementary and Ortona Elementary culminated on Tuesday with the official opening of the Beachside Elementary campus in Daytona Beach, home of the Sea Turtles.”
Both of the schools are from the 1950s-60s and many of the current buildings were experiencing moisture intrusion. This project includes the construction of a new 95,000 SF school which will house approximately 750 student stations on the existing approximate 11.9-acre Ortona site, as well as site re-development and demolition of the old campus. Building A is the only two (2) story building and houses the administration, a media center, and Pre-K through Grade five (5) classrooms. Building B holds the cafeteria, a multi-purpose room with a stage, and music, art and lab spaces. Building C is the gym (covered play area) with restrooms, storage and additional offices. #TeamAjax & BRPH are thrilled to have been part of this incredible new addition to the community!
