Orlando Utilities Commission breaks ground on first net-zero emissions facility
Thank you to WESH 2 News for covering the Groundbreaking for the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) St. Cloud Operations & Maintenance facility project with Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. This exciting project will be a NET ZERO emissions facility featuring a 55,000 square-foot warehouse and a 22,000 square-foot facility including rooftop solar panels, floating solar, rainwater harvesting tanks and electric vehicle charging stations!
“Officials said they hope it serves as a model of what commercial buildings can look like while eliminating their carbon footprint. “I think it’s so important to make sure that we have a facility where we have materials, warehousing and fueling, and all our construction folks can work here because there’s so much growth going on in St. Cloud. As you heard, about 6-percent on an annual basis growth down here in St. Cloud, that’s tremendous,” OUC general manager and CEO Clint Bullock said. The first phase of construction is set to be completed by December 2023.”
