Farewell, Northwood

Tallahassee’s first indoor mall has started to come down, as of Tuesday August 10th, to make way for the brand new City of Tallahassee Police Department headquarters. Northwood Centre is definitely a part of Tallahassee history because it originally opened in 1969. Repurposing the building for this new facility was not possible since several renovations created an “incongruent design.” This demolition process of Northwood’s 541,000 square feet will take about five months.
