University of North Florida College of Education
This three-story building houses classrooms, teaching labs, faculty offices, auditoriums, meeting space and student services. The design provided infrastructure elements to accommodate a 8,200-square-foot Disability Resource Center addition. The building enables COEHS faculty, staff and programs to be together under one roof for the first time in years.
The project achieved substantial completion 2 months ahead of schedule and $750,000 savings was returned to the owner. Following project completion, the project team held a lessons learned seminar with UNF, architect and consultants. Ajax had an extensive list of items that were learned through the project and provided UNF with useful information that was incorporated into the UNF Design Guidelines.
